Kase is having lots of tummy trouble which is causing him lots of pain which is causing him to cry a lot which is causing us to hold him a lot. You get the picture. It seems that he might be a bit of a mama's boy because although he loves his Daddy tons he usually settles down pretty fast for Mommy hugs and cuddles. Kaiden has always been very equal between us so it's a little different to see Kase's preference.
We went to a birthday party Saturday & it had an ocean theme so the party favor was a hermit crab... a live hermit crab. First of all, it creeped me out quite a bit with its little crab legs crawling up the side of the very small cup they gave him to us in. So I was hoping Kaiden would agree & be ok with leaving Crabbie at the party. No such luck... he definitely wanted to take him home. I was not happy with it riding home beside me with its little creepy crab legs trying to climb out... yuck! When we got home, Buddy was very interested in Crabbie as well so Ben put him in a taller cup & covered it with aerated saran wrap. We've now done a little research on hermit crabs & are even more stressed out. They are supposed to have fresh food everyday, they have temperature requirements, & they usually live with lots of other crabs. Even though I'm not a crab fan, I am tender-hearted & don't want to kill him. It's become a serious stress to me especially when I have a new child to care for... I can't handle the responsibility of a new "pet" that we didn't plan to acquire in the first place. We'll keep you posted on the crustacean saga. A funny side note: On Jon & Kate Plus 8 last night the oldest girls got hermit crabs... which died. Ahhhhh!
Kase enjoys the outdoors & the boys work on their computers!
Kase and Kaiden... pretty similar looking!

How's the crab?
He's still hanging in there! Hopefully we find an adoptive home soon. : )
