It's official... Kase has been paid for & can officially come home with us! : ) They actually wheeled him in like this & it cracked us up! We had to pay Kaiden off in installments. : ) Bye, bye hospital!
We are so happy to finally be home with our two precious boys. We thought we'd be home shortly after lunch but got held up for several reasons. We were just waiting for the birth certificate person to come by & the on-call OB to come check & give the ok to release me, but then the nurse came in and said she had some bad news... The nurse the first night had failed to file Kase's newborn screening test & they couldn't find it so they had to take him to prick his heel again. Poor baby! Upon his return I was assured the OB was near & we should be close to checking out. In the meantime a pediatrician came by to do a last check on Kase (which we didn't even know had to be done) & she said she needed to do another jaundice check. That meant another heel prick & another hour wait for the results. Ahhhh! We just wanted to go home. Finally, we got to leave around 4:30 PM and arrived safely home at 5:00PM.
It was so fun to get both boys in the car and drive into the driveway. They both fell asleep on the way home. When we got to the house we were welcomed by a super cute stork sign announcing Kase's arrival & Kaiden's big brother status. Robyn & Megan had made the sign & it made us all feel very special. We were also welcomed by Kelly Benoit who came up to assist us on our first night & day home. She made us dinner & dessert & did lots of other helpful tasks. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends!
