Now this was entertaining. A bunch of Texans trying to ice skate on a small ice rink. Yikes! There were people falling left & right & the sound their bodies made upon impact was quite disturbing. It was a challenge not to get run into by some out-of-control person.
I had only ice skated once or twice before but I thought I'd do somewhat ok. What I didn't realize was that helping a 4 year old, who had never skated before, would be so challenging. Not only did I have to try to get my bearings, but I also had to support a 39 lb. kiddo who was slippin' & slidin'. He lasted a few laps with me & then Todd helped him some & before too long he was done. Then I got to really give it a go & I did pretty ok for a complete novice...
...until I looked at Ben for a picture. : ) What an "action shot!" The amazing thing is that as bad as it looks, I didn't fall down.
Kaiden got to see Frosty, Rudolph, Santa & Mr. Scrooge... They also got to see "snow", run around in the Merry Maze, & race down a big slide on a "sled."
We watched a little interactive show called Scrooge's Haus. They asked all the kids to come to the front row. Ben started videoing a little way into it after Kaiden's laughing at Scrooge's jokes got him noticed. Scrooge had already asked Kaiden why he was so small & Kaiden said "because I'm 4!" You can't see much from the video because it was too dark but you can hear Kaiden laugh & "Scrooge" question & interact with him. Kaiden became the star of the show. : )
