Getting in the Groove

Kase is 8 weeks old today! WOW! Time flies... He continues to be a precious baby & generally a very happy little fella. Last night he decided it would be lots o' fun to be wide awake in the middle of the night & when we didn't think that was the best idea he kept insisting we see it his way. It was the most difficult night we've have so far because we are all feeling bad. I've had a sore throat & lots of drainage issues. Kase is congested & Kaiden has been dealing with a persistent runny nose. Ben is feeling ok except for headaches, eye aches & other sleep deprivation related ailments. Both boys were up a lot & none of us slept much.

I started Weight Watchers a few weeks ago but it's been challenging because I've been over-indulging for so long. I know the hormones aren't helping the low self-esteem, but getting dressed is quite depressing. I'm ready to really get back in gear. I started walking Friday while Kaiden was at school. I went for a 3 mile walk around the neighborhood with Kase in the harness. I walked it in an hour & 10 minutes, a far cry from my 45 minute pace of a year ago. Even though it was slow, it felt good to get out there & back in the swing of things. I walked Saturday with Kelly & we improved to about 55 minutes. Today I pushed Kase in the stroller & walked the 3 miles in 51 minutes. I'm really feeling it tonight as I hurt a bit in my abdomen & my ankles & feet & back. I'm rather hard on myself, a fact many close friends & family remind me of often, so it's hard not to be down about where I am. I'm trying to remind myself that I just got the clear to exercise 2 weeks ago & I'm getting started so much earlier than I did with Kaiden. He was 8 months old when I started WW's & walking. I'm going to do my best to take it one day at a time.

Kaiden continues to enjoy pre-school. Today he got to take the "Something Special" bag. He was super excited about taking his Anikin Skywalker McDonald's toy. He hid it in the bag & his 3 clues were read to the class so they could guess what it was. I love hearing about his day & seeing all the little treasures he brings home.

Here's our birth announcement:
